What might have been

Early in April the District of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire hold their Annual Meeting, in normal circumstances a "Band of Pilgrims" would have ventured south of Watford to attend this meeting.
Early morning Wigan Northwestern Station
As usual on the way down as well as refreshments now provided by Avanti West Coast Bacon, Barmcakes are the order of the day.
Arriving at Euston Station it would have been a short walk from our arrival on Platform 14 to our connecting train to Bushey waiting on Platform 11
Bacon Butties for breakfast
Arriving at Bushey after a normally uneventful journey south, a short taxi ride would deliver the party to the Metropolitan Police Social Club.
Euston Station past and present
As usual the District Prefect for Herts and Beds Geoffrey Cheshire would be waiting to welcome members and guests to the meeting.
Bushey Station
Geoffrey Cheshire DGP Herts & Beds
Following the meeting, prior to Lunch we would have been able to have some welcome refreshment outside in the warm sunshine before enjoying a three course dinner.
"The Four Musketeers
Leaving Bushey for our return "Back up North" settling on the train we normally discuss our next outing, but sadly for some time to come that's a figment of our imagination.  Fortunately that's one thing the present pandemic can't take from us, our imagination, memories of past trips and plans for future outings.
Cheers !!
Stay Safe   Look forward to our next merry meeting.
